Glory Sightings

From Pastor Rocky Wallace: Pastors and laity of Claylick UMC enjoyed a weekend renewal and planning retreat at Aldersgate Camp and Retreat Center on Nov. 5-6. Two other UMC church groups were there as well, as KY UMC camps are open for small group retreats, and encouraging churches to take advantage of these opportunities again.

From Pastor Jason Roop: We have had 20 baptisms and 11 new members at Asbury in Campbellsville since April 28th. In fact, we had so many that the baptistery broke, and we started baptizing people at the lake. God has been doing even greater things in our church that can't be expressed quantitatively. Families being restored, addiction being broken, and so many coming to Christ.

From Jessica Neely: God is moving in great ways at KSU, but we need your help and help from others in your church.  Last year was a restart year for us.  We started with two students and a plan.  By the end of the semester, we had 7-10 students in a leadership academy who were also being discipled one on one, and 15-30 different students every Sunday night studying God’s word and applying it to their lives.  Because of Covid, we were unable to do any outreaches except for the last Sunday of the year where we had over 150 students.  These are not just numbers but lives that are changing and growing because God is working.

We did not know what to expect this year.  Last Sunday, our fall kickoff event of wings, scavenger hunt, and prayer, had over 200 students.  We don’t know how many will be back next week, but 63 students signed up to be mentored, 51 signed up to be in our Leadership Academy, 59 signed up for Bible study, and 49 for small groups.
