Angel Tree Ministry Needs Help!
posted on November 12
Ruth Sanborn, a field director for Angel Tree, has reached out to our district for help in providing Christmas gifts to children who have incarcerated parents. See below for more information, and how to register as a sponsor. Ruth is happy to answer any questions a church may have about sponsoring children.
Angel Tree®, a program of Prison Fellowship, reaches out to the children of prisoners and their families with the love of Christ. Every Angel Tree child receives a gift with a $20.00 value along with a special message from mom or dad; the family is also offered a free, easy-to-read copy of the Bible in English or Spanish from Angel Tree. And while Angel Tree starts with a gift, after Christmas there are many ways for you to stay involved with and have a lasting impact on the lives of Angel Tree sons and daughters! It is Angel Tree’s commitment to find local churches and organizations to connect to local children.
At this time, we have 877 children across Kentucky who do not yet have someone local to them to provide a $20 gift to them on behalf of their incarcerated parent this Christmas! Attached is a map of the Bluegrass District, as well as the number of Angel Tree children in each county who have not yet been matched with a local church. Please consider registering for Angel Tree (at www.angeltree.org/register ) to serve children in your community. The map at the top of the article shows counties where churches an sponsors are needed.
