Bishop Fairley Announces 2023 Cabinet Appointments
posted on April 13

Brothers and sisters in Christ, I am pleased to announce the following appointments, most of which will take effect July 1, 2023.
Rev. Dr. Tina Patterson will be appointed as the Director of Connectional and African American Ministries and will serve on the Bishop’s Appointive Cabinet. Tina has served as the Bluegrass District Superintendent since 2021. Tina has participated in the life of the Kentucky Annual Conference in numerous ways, including the Board of Ordained Ministry, New Church Development, Chair of the Heartland District Building and Locations Committee, SBC21 Design Team, Religion and Race, Kentucky Conference Multicultural Operations Team, and the Primary Task Team. Tina has one adult daughter and two grandchildren.
Rev. Dr. Kimberly Pope-Seiberling will become the Director for New Church Development effective May 1, 2023, and will serve on the Bishop’s Appointive Cabinet. She is an ordained Elder from the West Ohio Conference and has experience with large, medium and small churches in rural, urban and suburban settings. In addition to ministry experience, she has corporate experience in streamlining and perfecting global business processes. Kim holds a Bachelor of Science in education, a Master of Divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary, and a Doctorate of Ministry from the same institution, where she studied as a Beason Scholar. Kim and her husband, Eric, have an adult daughter and a very shy rescue greyhound, Nancy. As time allows, Kim enjoys cooking, hiking, traveling and gathering with friends and family. She also enjoys an occasional Netflix binge, shopping for that perfect sweater, and a Big Mac. She is excited to see what God will do during a new season of ministry in the Kentucky Conference.
Rev. Dr. Iosmar Alvarez will be appointed to a local church, and will continue to serve as the Chair of the Hispanic Operational Team. Iosmar has served as the Lexington District Superintendent since 2018.

Rev. Karen Stigall will retire at this Annual Conference; however, she will continue to serve the Central Appalachian Missionary Conference and on the Bishop’s Appointive Cabinet as Conference Superintendent as CAMC continues to live into this new season of transition.
For the 2023-2024 appointment season, the following five District Superintendents will provide coverage for the Kentucky Conference, allowing time for our District Realignment Team to consider the possibilities around new district lines.
Rev. Dr. Wade Arp will continue to serve the Pennyrile District. Wade has served as District Superintendent in Pennyrile since 2021.
Rev. Shannon Boaz will continue to serve the Northern Kentucky District and will provide coverage to the Lexington District. Shannon has served as the Northern Kentucky District Superintendent since 2021.
