Scouting Sunday Coming Up on February 10, 2019
posted on November 26
The Boy Scouts of America annually celebrates its founding on February 8, 1910. In the mid 1940's, The Boy Scout Sunday tradition was introduced to make people in houses of worship aware of Boy Scouting, and to allow Boy Scouts to fulfill their "Duty to God."
Do you have active involvement in Boy Scouting at your congregation?
For 2019, February 10 is the suggested date and now is the time to... start planning for Boy Scout Sunday. This is a great opportunity to recognize active adult leaders and religious emblems counselors for their work with young people and thank the congregation's leadership for their support. It is also a great time to present religious emblems to those youth members who have elected to complete the Duty to God Adventures or Scout Spirit requirements in this fashion: https://www.praypub.org/pray

Additionally, the BSA offers a comprehensive guide to planning your event in concert with your congregational leadership.
